Time Warner Cable News featured the Port of Wilmington Cold Storage in a new article:

WILMINGTON — More jobs are on their way to Wilmington because of a new storage facility at the port. Officials say the cold storage warehouse could eventually create more than 80 jobs and said it is the only facility of its kind in the entire state. With more than 100,000 square feet of space, there’s enough room for about 20 million pounds of frozen food and that number could grow in the coming years.

“We have an option to add onto this facility two more times to get us up to 300,000 square feet. So you know, if the business model works and we are successful in what we’re doing, then we anticipate adding on at least one or two more times,” said Charles McCarthy, Port of Wilmington Cold Storage.

According to the latest figures available, the N.C. Department of Agriculture said agricultural exports from our state exceeded $4.1 billion in 2014.
